Picture Pie
By Ed Emberley
Amazing cut-outs you can create with circles.
It just takes construction paper, sissors, paper punch and glue.

Picture Pie is an creative inspiring book that shows you step by step how to make cute little critters. Published in 1984 it is a masterful collection of patterns, shapes, colors and creatures. Any person reguardless of age can make these cut-outs. Give it a try we had a blast.

My mother (who brought crafts into my life) actually discovered Picture Pie and started cutting circles of different sizes and glueing them together. My sister and niece joined the party. We had paper everywhere as you can see. Ed Emberley has many fantastic books. He is a cleaver creative genius. Visit his website it is amazing:

We had a great time together making these fun critters.
Spending time together crafting is quality family time.

Awesome Skirt

This is an awesome skirt I made for my darling niece Melissa. It was super easy to make and it fit her great. She really liked it.

This lovely skirt has an elastic waist and a bow embellishes the front waistband.

At the bottom of the skirt is an 8 inch ruffle with a 1/2 inch rollover hem that is then edge stitched, so simple.

Perfect with a tank top. So sassy and summery.

The length of the skirt is just below the knee. It is not super short which is much more comfortable for her to wear. The fabric is from Joann Fabric and Craft. Quilter's Showcase is the name of the fabric manufacturer. Soft and comfortable is the best way to describe its hand.

I love sewing for my beautiful niece. Perfect to wear skirt back to school.

The Little Green Dress

Cutest Sheath Dress
The Little Green Dress

I made this dress for my daughter. She wore it t a wedding and looked fabulous. I used McCall's pattern M5425. It is a very easy pattern. The fabric made the dress. A Vintage satin weave cotton. It was over 30 years old. The fabric was faded in several places and I had to work around these areas. There were about 3 1/2 yards, just enough. This fabric is the most beautiful shade of green with a Chinese dragon floral motif. The dress slips over the head as there is no zipper. There is a casing at the neckline front and back that holds the sash. The sash is tied in a bow at  the center back of the neckline. This dress can be worn with the belt or without. The belt can be tied in several different ways. Green and Growing!
Can't go wrong with this LITTLE GREEN DRESS.

What do you think?
